You didn’t just vote Mitski’s “Nobody” as the Song of the Week, you voted it as the Song of the Summer (that isn’t Weezer’s “Africa”).

Seriously, the Weezer cover of the Toto classic was omnipresent this summer. It even won Song of the Week honors back in June. So we set it aside as the obvious choice, then each put forth our personal Song of the Week picks for Song of the Summer.

In the end, Mitski’s “Nobody” was the clear winner, edging out the bright riffage of Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s “Talking Straight“, the funky bounce of Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s “Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays“, and the stoney summer vibe of Juiceboxxx’s “Freaked Out American Loser“.

So congrats to Mitski. And to Morning Glory host Michael Marotta on his third straight victory. Be The Cowboy, Michael.
