Boston, MA (5/14/19) – There’s a lot of ground to cover across the 617. That’s why indie617 and Do617 have announced a strategic partnership that finds both brands teaming up to deliver the best of what to do — and how to do it — each day and night around the Boston area.

The union of a streaming online radio station like indie617, Boston’s independent music source, with Do617, a full-service marketing and promotions group with a dedicated event listing website, is one that directly benefits both the indie617 listener and Do617 subscriber. The partnership will allow Bostonians to discover, explore, and interact with the music and arts scene like never before.

This joint venture will expand the indie617 and Do617 platforms by streamlining resources, cross-promoting their respective events, promote touring and local musicians with a heightened focus, and serve as a one-stop shop for all things Boston music and happenings. That means more ticket giveaways, bigger events, enhanced show coverage, and a shorter distance between the listener/subscriber and the artists we cover, spin, and celebrate.

“This is the type of partnership where everyone wins — especially those who listen to the station and those who support and follow Do617,” says indie617 President/Managing Partner Paul Driscoll. “We see this as a perfect evolution for Boston’s only alternative — a greater presence around the city, larger events in the area, and the ability to take our playlist of emerging artists and legacy bands and present them to a platform where fans can keep track of their latest music and when they come to town.”

The first fruit of this partnership is the Do617 After Dark segment, heard daily on indie617, which takes Do617’s trusted listings and delivers them straight to the indie617 airwaves, curated by General Manager Sylvia Cunha and Content Manager Clay Fernald, giving radio listeners a true sense of what’s going on around town. Meanwhile, you’ll find indie617 personalities, including Adam 12, Julie Kramer, and Michael Marotta, with a greater presence across Do617’s platform.

“We’re excited to work with indie617,” says Cunha. “Much thanks to Don Law and the ownership group at indie617 for seeing the potential in this partnership. Things are going to get real interesting in Boston.”

This partnership is set to bloom on June 17 — 6/17 Day — with plenty of surprises in store from both indie617 and Do617. That’s a holiday to us. And we want to make it a holiday for all — we’re both linked by not only the 617 in our name, but by making the 617 the focus of everything we do.
