We’re finally at the midway point of 2019, so we here at indie617 are busy reflecting on the first half of the year, particularly where new music is concerned. It’s been a fantastic year so far — Alex Lahey, Jack Perrett, Hatchie, Clairo, Orville Peck, Bon Iver, Charly Bliss, Stella Donnelly, Billie Eilish, Johnny Mar… and on and on and on… whew!

As we get ready to count down the best songs of 2019 all holiday weekend long, the latest indie617 SOTW poll reflects on what has transpired over the past six months: It’s the Song of the Week of the Year (So Far) poll.

The indie617 DJ team has nominates their faves: Julie Kramer nominates Sharon Van Etten’s “Seventeen”; Morning Glory’s Michael Marotta nominates Miss June’s “Best Girl”; Paul Driscoll nominates Vampire Weekend’s “Harmony Hall”; and Pelvis Costello nominates Local Natives, “When Am I Gonna Lose You”.
