Last week in our Song of the Week poll, a relative newcomer in Mal Blum took down three well-established bands and artists (Angel Olsen, Tegan and Sara, HAIM) for one of the more surprising victories in recent memory.

This week, we’re lining up for new contenders for the #SOTW throne, and as we sit here on Monday, it’s anyone’s game.

indie617 production coordinator Tommy O’Connor looks to make it 2 for 2 (he nominated Mal Blum last week, his inaugural appearance in the poll) with a pick of Chance The Rapper’s “Do You Remember,” which features Death Cab For Cutie (Chance plays TD Garden on October 3). Morning Glory host Michael Marotta rolls a personal fave with Dude York’s Falling”, the title track to new LP they’ll show off September 17 at ONCE Somerville; Julie Kramer nominates “Natural Affair” from The Growlers, who play Northampton on September 11; and weekend host Pelvis Costello waves a nom toward “Hand Solo” by Marika Hackman, who released a killer album this past Friday and plays Great Scott on October 18.
