UPDATE Saturday, 9:47 a.m.: Bombay Bicycle Club holds on.

Welp, the short week has wreaked havoc on the Song of the Week poll.

We launched this week’s poll on Tuesday after the long holiday, but still set it on Twitter for a four day voting period — which means it didn’t end today, on a Friday, like it does each week, but will instead wrap on Saturday while we’re all undoubtedly sleeping in.

So what do we do? Do we call it at its intended deadline of 9:30 a.m. Friday, or do we adhere to the grace of social media gods and let it run its unintended course?

At the usual deadline, Bombay Bicycle Club’s new track “Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)”, nominated by Morning Glory host Michael Marotta, was in the lead with about 44 percent. Iggy Pop’s “Free”, nominated by Kick Out The Jams host Julie Kramer, and Somos‘ “Mediterranean”, nominated by production coordinator Tommy O’Connor, both had about 24 percent of the vote. Pelvis Costello’s Whitney nomination had 7 percent.

We’ll see how this shakes out. And call it Monday morning on Morning Glory. We guess… UPDATE: See above update.
