Last week on Indie or Outtie we had what we think was our first ever unanimous vote, as indie617 listeners voted 100% “Indie” on “Fishing”, the new single from London’s Sports Team.

This week, there was another first — our first ever “Outtie”.

This morning on Morning Glory we put David Hasselhoff’s new cover of The Jesus And Mary Chain’s “Head On”, featuring The Cars’ Elliot Easton on guitar, up for a public debate and discussion. And listeners decided to head out on “Head On”, scoring it 56 percent “Outtie” with nearly 40 votes cast.

There was some real good discussion about the song too, with most listeners just feeling it was unnecessary. But others loved it. And a whole lot of Hoff .gifs were posted.

Later this week during our New Music Friday segment on Morning Glory, we’ll talk about Hasselhoff’s new covers album, Open Your Eyes, which features his take on classics by Echo And The Bunnymen, David Bowie, Modern English and others. He even partners up with Al Jourgensen of Ministry to cover “Sweet Caroline.”

There’s a lot to unpack.

But we won’t be hearing this “Head On” cover.

Outtie!
