We’re still reeling from the wild finale of last week’s SOTW poll, but time waits for nobody, regardless of the result, so we’re back at it this morning with another Song of the Week survey. And it’s a doozy.

After winning the last two weeks with tracks from girl in red and Vivian Girls, Julie Kramer aims for a three-peat by nominating “Kurt Cobain,” the excellent new song from The Sheila Divine.

They’ll face some tough competition, as Tommy O’Connor nurses the wounds of his last-second defeat last week by nominating “Good Luck, Kid” by Portland’s Joseph (who just played The Paradise last Friday). Rounding out the quartet, Pelvis Costello gets her psych-pop on with Temples‘ “Holy Horses” (they play The Sinclair in January), and Michael Marotta tries to escape the basement with a pick of “Blankenship” by DIIV, who release new album Deceiver on Friday and play The Paradise on October 22.

We’ll spin these tunes all week long across all our shows, and declare a winner Friday morning on Morning Glory.
