Not too long after we premiered the track on Morning Glory last month, The Sheila Divine’s new single “Kurt Cobain” has taken home Song of the Week honors in another very close poll.

Nominated by Julie Kramer, who now has a three-week SOTW winning streak going on, “Kurt Cobain” is a brilliant new track from the beloved Boston band that wonders what the Nirvana frontman would be like if he were alive today. With 42 percent of the vote, it bested DIIV’s “Blankenship,” nominated by Michael Marotta, by a single percentage point.

These poll victories continue to be razor thin.

Tommy O’Connor placed a distant third place with Joseph’s “Good Luck, Kid”, and Pelvis Costello rounds out the group with Temples‘ psych-pop latest, “Holy Horses.”

A new poll goes live Monday morning. In the meantime, peep this week’s results.
