The indie617 Song of the Week — sometimes it’s a runaway, and sometimes it comes down to a single vote. The latter was the case last week, as Phantogram defeated Beck on the strength of one vote — cast in the Twitter poll’s waning seconds — to secure SOTW glory. Will we have such closeness in this week’s poll?

It could happen.

Four new contenders for the SOTW crown emerged this morning live on Morning Glory, and they shake out as such: Julie Kramer looks to get back in the W column with Modest Mouse’s super fresh new single “Ice Cream Party”; Michael Marotta gets his collabo on with Glass Animals and Denzel Curry’s bass-heavy “Tokyo Drifting”; Pelvis Costello get dramatic with Wye Oak’s “Fortune”; and Tommy O’Connor envisions future success with King Princess’ “Prophet.”

No real early favorite from this strong quartet. So case your vote and have your say. The poll wraps up Friday morning live on Morning Glory.
