For the first time in the Moxy Era, Morning Glory was able to resurrect its weekly Indie or Outtie segment, where we select a new track and present it to listeners for their approval or rejection. This morning (November 20) on the show, we gazed across the Atlantic to offer up young Londoner Harry Mold’s recent single “Python.”

The track, which is all about the evil snakes in our lives trying to bring us down, follows a nice musical lineage from Oasis and The Verve’s ’90s guitar rock vibes, and indie617 listeners were feeling it. “Python” secured a pleasing 89 percent of the vote, meaning we’ll be hearing it more often here on Morning Glory.

“‘Python’ is a song I wrote for the ‘snakes’ that surround us,” says Mold. “It was written as an immediate response to a close friend being sleazy behind my back. My raw and honest ‘fuck you’ to those types.”

Nice.
