Last Friday, we had all sorts of drama in the Song of the Week poll. This week, not so much.

Michael Marotta’s nominee of Glass Animals’ collaboration with Denzel Curry, “Tokyo Drifting,” jumped out to an early Monday lead in the poll and never looked back, winning what was a pretty solid field that included Pelvis Costello’s pick of “Fortune” by Wye Oak; Tommy O’Connor’s nod toward King Princess’ “Prophet”; and Julie Kramer’s nom of Modest Mouse’s “Ice Cream Party.”

Not a bad quartet, eh?

But in the end, it was Glass Animals party, and their bass-heavy jam with Curry certainly suggests they are eyeing a big 2020. But it all starts with “Tokyo Drifting,” so bump it loud and get ready for a new Song of the Week poll to go live Monday on Morning Glory. It’ll be a short poll with the Thanksgiving holiday, so no waiting until Friday to cast that vote.

Gobble gobble, yo.
