Yeah, sure, 2019 has been a bit of a Dumpster fire. But it’s also been a great year for music, and indie617 has the playlist to prove it as we say goodbye to the past 12 months.

So join indie617 over our streamwaves throughout the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day as we count down the 100 greatest songs of the year — from indie and alt-rock stalwarts Tame Impala, Sleater-Kinney, and Vampire Weekend to exciting newcomers like Eliza and the Delusionals, Dude York, and Hatchie.

The indie100: The Top 100 indie617 Songs of 2019 kicks off with a fury on Thursday, December 26, then continues on through to New Year’s Day. We’ll replay the countdown all week as the sun sets on December, weaving it in and out with our celebrated Top 100 indie617 Songs of the Decade list. This will give you a chance to either agree with us or argue with us several times over about both of our countdowns, and a chance to catch up on any music you might have missed this year.

Much like our indie100: Decade Edition, the Best of 2019 spotlight has been pulled together using the indie617 staff expertise, our combined number of spins since our April 2018 launch, and a bunch of other factors decided upon deep within the indie617 labs. It’s science!

The indie100 is presented by Boston’s alternative streaming radio, indie617.
