Tanner Hall storms back onto the World Freeride Tour

This week Tanner Hall joins Dan Egan on ‘Fresh Tracks’

Tanner Hall is one of the most transformative figures in skiing. He has been on the forefront of the progression of the sport since the late 1990s. As a young gun he stormed onto the scene winning 7 X-Games Gold Medals and then he used that platform to build an empire of sponsors, a ski company and cat skiing operation.

Hall grew up in the quite northern Montana town of Kalispell he was drown to the developing twin tip movement in skiing and brought raw talent to it. When it came to half pipe skiing he set the standard for what would be come an Olympic Sport.

His career has been marred with major injuries when he broke both ankles in Utah while shooting a movie in the backcountry that mixed with his controversial stance on actively promoting cannabis and sports way before legalization became the norm has sometimes left him standing on the outside looking in.

Now in his mid 30’s Hall is back on his own terms competing on a high level on the World Freeride Tour with a supportive group of sponsors and a solid plan for fitness and performance he is solidifying his career as an industry pivotal personality and legend.

Caite Zeliff shines in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Caite shares her experiences this week on ‘Fresh Tracks’

This year in the final segment of the Warren Miller’s annual film Timeless, there was a little fireplug of a skier making a big splash on the big screen, Caite Zeliff.

A New Hampshire native, she grew up carving race turns while bashing gates for the Mountain Washington Ski Team. In high school she attended and raced for Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H., and as it often happens dreams become transformed through diversity and in this case it was a knee injury.

Drawn like many to the legendary resort of Jackson Hole, Zeliff tacked the ski bum life style working multiple jobs and living to ski the deep soft snow of the west.  Her hard charging east coast style caught the eye of the some of the biggest names in the ski industry, Jimmy Chin, Jess McMillin just to name a few.

Western ski towns are a proving ground for young talent and Zeliff saw her opportunity in the new cult “Kings & Queen’s of Corbet’s” content, where over the last two years she has won this big mountain contest and she is intending a “three-peat” this coming February.
