Last week’s SOTW flew off the rails, with two competing storylines (one for the winner, one for the relegated participant) leading up to one hell of a finish and a massive re-entry into 2020. But time waits for one one, and that holds true for the indie617 Song of the Week poll.

So we jump right back into the fray with a fresh quartet of contenders, and a slightly new look: Pelvis Costello defends her crown (quite literally) with Tennis‘ new one “Need Your Love” (off forthcoming record Swimmer, out next month, with a live appearance set for April 25 at Royale); and new participant Chrissy McKeon, our promo and marketing wiz, replaces a relegated Tommy O’Connor with her pick of Caroline Polachek’s “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” (the former Chairlift member hits Brighton Music Hall on February 12)

Rounding out the group is Julie Kramer’s pick of Hop Along singer-gone-solo Frances Quinlan’s “Your Reply” (Quinlan’s new album Likewise is out January 31), and Michael Marotta’s pick of Grouplove’s “Deleter” (off their new album, title and release date TBA).

That’s a nice group.
