Ok, deep exhale: Inhaler is our new Song of the Week champion.

The young Dublin band, fronted by the son of U2’s Bono, have captured the SOTW crown on the strength of their new pile-driver single “We Have To Move On,” nominated this week by Morning Glory host Michael Marotta. It’s a nice declaration of love from a city that will welcome Inhaler into Somerville this spring when they play ONCE Ballroom.

The new Inhaler track captured 34.7 percent of the vote, and it wasn’t really close at any point during the week.

Kick Out The Jams and midday host Julie Kramer, back in the poll after a week of relegation, finished second with Stephen Malkmus’ new one “Xian Man,” off his new March 6 record Traditional Techniques, garnering 24.7 percent of votes. SOTW newcomer Johnny L made his grand debut by nominating The Wombats’ new-old one “Mosquito on the Wall,” pulled from their new b-sides, demos, and rarities compilation, B-Z Sides (2003-2017) [In Rough Chronological Order], and his pick finished third with 22.7 percent of the vote.

That meant that defending champ and afternoon host Tommy O’Connor, gets the boot once again after his nomination of Chloe Moriondo’s “Kindergarten” took home only 18 percent on the ballot.

Tommy’s out, Pelvis Costello is back in, and a new SOTW poll goes live Monday on Morning Glory.
